About the Shared Savings Program
Sunflower ACO participates in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services initiative that rewards groups of doctors, hospitals, and other providers who come together to give coordinated, high-quality care to Medicare patients.
The goal of the Shared Savings Program is to ensure patients — especially those with chronic conditions — get the right care at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary duplication of services and preventing medical errors. When an ACO succeeds in delivering high-quality care and spending healthcare dollars more wisely, it may share in the savings it achieves for Medicare.
